| Well, we clearly started a robust discussion yesterday on Congressman Jerry McNerney’s inattention to his early grassroots supporters. Interestingly enough, although our site meter records a lengthy visit by them, the Congressman’s staff did not see fit to respond to our post, here or elsewhere. Why didn’t they? Beats the hell out of me. I guess they are either made uncomfortable by demands from the “plebes” or they simply don’t think it’s important.
Take your choice. |
| babaloo :: Of Grassroots Abuse And Ratings Abuse |
In the meantime, since I haven’t previously explained the ratings system, this might be the place to do it. There are five possible ratings:
| 0 | Troll (intentionally disruptive) |
| 1 | Offensive and unacceptable |
| 2 | Marginal |
| 3 | Disagree |
| 4 | Excellent |
As things stand now, any member has the ability to rate a post with a “0.” Two ratings of “0” will result in the comment being hidden from public view. That situation can be peremptorily changed if ratings abuse occurs. Please try to think about your response before rating. If you simply don’t agree with the comment, the appropriate response is a “3.” “2” is entering into deeply questionable territory; if you think the comment is borderline offensive, this is appropriate. Once you enter a “2” or below rating, you should also respond with a comment explaining your problem with the comment.
Hope that helps to clarify. |
